1. What services do you offer?

At Ashburton Therapy Clinic I specialise in three core treatment areas:

  • TMJ Therapy – for jaw pain, migraines, headaches, neck & shoulder tension and related symptoms

  • Scar Therapy – to help improve mobility, comfort and appearance of scar tissue

  • Soft Tissue Massage Therapy – including general massage, pregnancy massage (from 15 weeks) and focused pain-relief treatments

3. What should I expect at my first session?

For all treatments, your first session includes a consultation and treatment ( 60 minutes for TMJ, 40 Minutes for massage) to discuss your history, symptoms and goals. For massage treatments you can expect a tailored hands-on session focusing on your key tension and pain areas

4. How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition, its duration and how your body responds to treatment. For example, with TMJ Therapy it is advisable to have one treatment a week for a minimum of three weeks to gain full benefit. Scar Therapy may show changes in one session, but sometimes more may be needed depending on how the tissue responds. I discuss your progress at every session.

5. Do you accept pregnancy or postnatal clients?

Yes. I offer pregnancy massage starting from 15 weeks gestation, delivered in a safe and specialised way. If you are postnatal, I can also assist with related conditions such as scar tissue (from C-section etc), muscle tension and holistic massage support.

6. What are your opening times and location?

I am located at The 54 Clinic, 54 Bloxham Road, Banbury OX16 9JR. Typical appointment slots:

  • Mondays: 08:00 - 20:00

  • Fridays: 16:00 - 20:00

  • Saturdays: 08:00 - 14:00

7. Do you treat clients from outside Banbury / Oxfordshire?

Yes. while I am based in Banbury, I welcome clients from surrounding towns and counties. If you’re travelling, please allow a little extra time for your appointment to ensure full session time.

8. What makes your approach different?

My approach at Ashburton Therapy Clinic is holistic, hands-on and tailored. Rather than simply treating the symptom, I aim to identify the root cause (for example, tension patterns, postural stress, scar tissue restrictions) and restore movement, ease and comfort across the whole body.

9. Are your treatments suitable for those with complex health issues?

Yes, but it will depend on your specific condition. Prior to treatment I willl take your case history, discuss your symptoms and decide what is appropriate. If you have had major surgery, serious injury, or a chronic health condition, please mention this at booking so I can prepare accordingly.

10. What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel. This allows me to offer the time slot to another client. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee (please refer to the detailed terms & conditions available at the clinic or online).

11. Do you offer gift vouchers or packages?

Yes. Gift vouchers are available (please ask when booking). We can also discuss a package of multiple treatments, for example a block of sessions for TMJ or scar therapy, which can help with continuity of care and better outcomes.

12. What should I wear and how should I prepare?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and bring a bottle of water. Arrive a few minutes early to avoid any delays before your session. Bring any relevant medical information or history if applicable.

13. Do you accept insurance payments?

If your insurer covers massage therapy or soft tissue therapy I can issue a receipt of payment that you can submit and reclaim. Please check with your insurance provider in advance.

14. How do I track my progress and what happens after treatment?

After your session you will receive post-treatment advice (e.g., gentle movement, hydration, self care). I review how you feel and may ask for feedback after a few days. For multi-session treatments (like TMJ or scar therapy) I will monitor your progress and adjust the plan accordingly. You can also contact me between sessions if you have questions.
